Megan Reilly has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a minor in Leadership and Social Change. She took courses in Abnormal Psychology, Psychological Disorders of Children, and Psychology of Trauma. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is being supervised by Emily Prusator, LCSW, LICSW, RPT as she is completing her specialist field placement.
Megan has mainly had experience with motivational interviewing, which is an empowerment technique designed to promote growth and healing. She is also knowledgeable in evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Strengths-based approaches. She is eager to learn and grow her practice under supervision by incorporating Sand Therapy and Play Therapy.
Treatment areas include stress, anxiety, trauma, depression, attachment, and grief/loss. Also, Courtney has supported children with socio-emotional concerns, academic challenges, and diagnoses such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Courtney enjoys helping clients not only identify, but highlight their strengths and resiliency.
