Jessica Tibbetts Buchanan, Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Virginia and Florida. Jessica received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from University of Richmond and then pursued a dual master’s, in Social Work and Child Development from New York University and Sarah Lawrence College. She has over a decade of experience working with children and families in a variety of settings including outpatient mental health, schools and private practice.
Jessica has specialized training in Play Therapy, Sand Therapy and Trauma- Focused Integrated Play Therapy. Additionally, she is trained in Theraplay and is currently working to become a Registered Play Therapist. Jessica utilizes an integrative approach in treatment to support children and families. She specializes in working in issues of attachment, trauma, chronic stress, emotional dysregulation, anger, anxiety and depression. Jessica’s clinical approach is rooted in compassion and acceptance. In her clinical work, she continues to be humbled by the amazing resilience of children and families and in the healing power of positive relationships.
