Veronica Zapata Velez has a psychology degree from CES University in Medellin, Colombia. She is a third year graduate student of Clinical Mental Health Counseling in Marymount University. Veronica works in a community mental health agency in Washington, D.C. with clients who are low income as well as clients with a severe mental illness. Veronica has worked on completing assessments, crisis intervention plans and had the opportunity to work with low income children and families who have suffered abuse and traumatic experiences.
Veronica believes in the power of healthy relationships as corrective experiences. She is passionate about supporting bilingual and bi-cultural children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced trauma and emotional challenges. Veronica is excited to continue with her passion and development as a person and counselor in the mental health field.
